How do I join?

You can register on this website to become a member of the Shape Up Vicksburg Walking Club, utilize our tools and resources, and receive updates and information about our programs and events.

What kind of activities do you have?

The Shape Up Vicksburg Get Healthy Walking Club was created to offer a way for our residents to become more active. Walking is an easy form of exercise. All you need is your body and the information we provide on how to use it – simple and safe. On average, every minute of walking can extend your life by 1.5 to 2 minutes. Walking reduces the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke.

BodyWorks, a health education program designed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women's Health is being implemented by Shape Up Sisters. The program provides parents and caregivers with tools to help improve family eating and physical activity habits.

How much do the activities cost?

Both the Shape Up Vicksburg Walking Club and BodyWorks are FREE programs. We encourage physical fitness, fun and friendship for people of all ages and abilities. Our goal is to promote community health through education about long-term lifestyle changes including proper nutrition and participation in fitness programs.

How can I keep track of my weight loss?

Once you register, you can utilize all of the tools on this site, including the Track Your Progress program. You can also determine your Body Mass Index and use the Exercise Diary to monitor your physical activity.
